Blushing Face Problems? 5 Tips to Stop a Blushing Face

It’s normal for people to blush. An excessive blushing

face on the other hand can cause many individuals discomfort. Blushing at inappropriate times can make people flush even more. These individuals often blush at the smallest things such as when being approached by a stranger or even when walking through a crowded room. A phobic disorder often develops called “erythrophobia” where they begin to fear the physical act of reddening in front of others.

Here are 5 tips to help control a blushing face:

1. Determine why you blush – The first step to control your blushing face is to find out WHY and then question your reasoning.  Begin writing down every time you blush. Document the blushing incident and everything that led up to it. Write down why you felt others were thinking negatively about you and what “proof” you have that they thought this way.

2. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – CBT works by blending cognitive and behavioral therapy techniques. CBT therapists will attempt to help you shift your patterns of negative thinking and negative behaviors. They seek to help you control your blushing face by getting to the root cause of your anxiety. When people have erythrophobia (or any phobia for that matter) they tend to see life in an unrealistic setting. This therapy helps you overcome this.

3. Meditation – By learning how to relax, you will be able to deal with your anxiety and stop future episodes.

4. Visualization – This allows you to become more in tune with your body so you will be able to realize and stop an unpleasant face reddening episode from happening.

5. Breathing techniques – These will help you put an end to blushing face episodes since you’ll recognize these as abnormal feelings.

You have complete control over your blushing face.  You only need some help with learning HOW to master it.
